This Week’s Memory Verse

Memory Verse:

NASB-1 Timothy 4:7b-8 -On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness; for bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also the life to come.

  • Paul is giving warnings during this part of Timothy. Warnings about what will happen to some people.

  • Immediate Context starts in verse 6. This verse gives us an idea of servanthood. A servant that points out the things from verse 1-5, or errors to the brotherhood.

  • Verse 8 is a compare and contrast - In terms of investment Godliness discipline is more profitable than Physical discipline.
